| Description: |
Northbound #2 Engines 4022 & 4105, 8 cars running on time at speed of 75 MPH struck a truck loaded with 1,545 gallons of gasoline at Magnolia street just north of the depot. The truck did not stop at the crossing sign. The train came to a stop 3,170 feet north of the crossing. The front of the engine was badly damaged by the collision & fire. The engineer & the fireman were killed. |
